It is with great honor and a deep sense of duty that I extend my greetings on the occasion of the establishment of the World Fund for Development and Planning (WFDP) India Representative Office. This significant step reflects the organization’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the region and enhancing its contributions to international development and cooperation.

The opening of this new office in India underscores WFDP’s recognition of the country’s strategic importance, its diverse human potential, and its longstanding dedication to sustainable progress. India’s role as a rising global partner provides fertile ground for initiatives that advance peace, development, and stability—priorities that lie at the heart of WFDP’s mandate.

Our representative office in India is entrusted with the responsibility to:

• Promote and support programs aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);

• Facilitate cooperation between governmental institutions, civil society, and international partners;

• Develop initiatives that contribute to poverty reduction, improved education, enhanced healthcare, and strengthened socio-economic resilience;

• Serve as a bridge for dialogue, partnership, and constructive engagement in areas of mutual development interest.

As Secretary-General of this office, I reaffirm my full commitment to upholding the principles and values of WFDP and to ensuring the effective implementation of our mission within India. We shall work diligently, in coordination with our global leadership and local partners, to contribute meaningfully to national and international development efforts.
